Department of Geoinformation Systems was founded in 1996. Department consists of 4 professors, 5 associate professors, 7 assistants. For today the Department of GIS has three computer classes equipped with modern hardware – 38 computers on Intel and AMD platforms. In computer classes occupations on learning of programming, geographic information systems, computer graphics, animation and other special subjects are conducted. Also there are two specialized research laboratories at the disposal of the department.
The department provides training in the following specializations:
1. Information technology aerospace environmental monitoring
2. Geographic information systems and technologies
Preparation levels: the bachelor, the master.
Curriculum provides pre-diploma practice, work practice and educational practice that are held in specialized laboratories of the department of geographic information systems and at the enterprises of the city.
